The Lonely Indian

Hello there,

So it’s update time. These are too infrequent aren’t they? So from now on I am going to do smaller ones, so that I do not get daunted and procrastinate. I am sure many people have been unsure how to carry on with their lives without an update from me. Thankfully that no longer has to be a problem.

Since I messaged last I have been on Soccer AM and started some support dates for Seann Walsh. The Soccer AM thing was great fun. I had to be in a cupboard and they would get me out every now and again to have a rant. I love Soccer AM and I got to meet Gaizka Mendieta who is a legend. So, all in all a good time was had by all. It was a shame that I complained about having no food, only to have Helen Chamberlain locate a half eaten Twix on my seat. Awkward.

Seann’s tour has been good. We have done two dates : Tewkesbury and Chatham. Both were great fun, and the audiences were just fantastic. We also discovered a dlelightful Indian restaurant in Chatham, by the name of Monsoon Valley, which is a surprising name choice. We were the only ones in the restaurant, which is great for tension. Thankfully they decided to switch off the music part way through the meal which just made for a terrifying ambience of feeling like your skill at eating a Vegetable Jal Ferezi is being assessed. We then requested the music to be put back on, giving the impression that we were both Bollywood soundtrack enthusiasts. Top scran though.

This weekend I am at The Dorset in East Grinstead and Krater in Brighton. I never check the dates too far in advance. My Dad owns a pub in East Grinstead, and heard I was playing there from a regular at the pub. He was hugely impressed that I hadn’t told him and made the point of telling me so on the phone. At length. If you happen to be at this gig, and see me heckled to ribbons by a Sri-Lankan James Brown lookalike, you now have the background story.

See you soon
