Low resolution

Hello All,

I have tried my hardest to improve myself for the start of the year. I went to the gym, I tried eating more healthily. Already these things have fallen by the wayside as I realised that I do not care enough about my appearance to do anything about it. I’m married, I have kids, so really I don’t need to look good. I can just eat and avoid exercise, using any threats from my wife to leave me as a warning signal that I have let things go too far.

It doesn’t help that she has become a gym fanatic and health freak. She always was, but she has recently become even more focussed. The other day I walked into the kitchen to find her weighing the pasta she was going to put into her meal. When your only limitation is how much can be positioned on the plate without its structural integrity being compromised, this can be quite the eye opener.

I’m not saying I’m a huge pig. What I am saying is that last week I woke up, walked into the bathroom, looked at my reflection and felt the need to apologise to my wife for my what I was bringing to the table physically. What I mean by that is my physical appearance, not the literal quantity of food that I bring to the table.

Anyway I can’t talk about that any more as I just read it back and disgusted myself. This week has seen me trying out new material for my work in progress show with Sean McLoughlin next week. We have done one preview together, which was great fun, but I have been doing a lot of playing around with it and I think it’s better than it was. I think. I hope. Well feel free to come along and see: It’s at The Caroline of Brunswick in Brighton on 18 January. Sean is a fantastic comic, so even if my blatherings are inane, his hour will be entertaining.

I hope the start to your 2012 has been exciting and sexy and self improving. if anyone has managed to stick to a resolution, please let me know. I need inspiration.

BYE!!!
